By the sea
Come sit and watch the tide come and go with the sun shimmering on the sea. Watch as the tide comes and goes offering up a sandy and shingle beach perfect for beach combing for driftwood. Or tickling little crabs from the rockpools at low tide.
The Beach
Forelands Beach is a rugged tidal beach, dog friendly all year round. The café is reached by walking down two fights of steps. The first is concrete, the second is wooden. To the left round the corner is the RNLI lifeboat station, the right is the every present Culver Cliff with it’s iconic monument a the top. Forelands beach has a selection of quirky day beach huts, rockpools at low tide, and our very special Bembridge Ledge with a natural outcrop of rocks which surround the bay and appear at low tide.
Dog walks
Walk the dog along the sandy beach, Forelands is a dog friendly beach all year round. Skim pebbles from the beach or paddleboard round from Bembridge Harbour. You can walk along the footpath from Bembridge Airport or jump off the No.8 bus. But however you get to us, come sit, enjoy and relax.
Visiting us
Visiting ribs and boats need to check their draft before heading over the ledge of rocks at a lower tide. We can however be reached by kayak or paddleboard. We are a short drive or walk from Bembridge Marina. You can walk along the coastal walk to us. We are also a short stroll from Bembridge Airport or 5mins from the No 8 bus stop (Crossways). But if you are driving, we are situated at the end of a private drive with free parking within the surrounding roads. Bikes can be left locked in the private drive. We’ve even been visited by horse! As we are an outdoor venue we do recommend you call to check we are open on inclement days in the Summer on 07832 127737.

Free parking is available on the road and private driveway along Forelands Field Road by permission of the landowners. We are on the No. 8 Southern Vectis bus route which runs between Newport and Ryde.
Tides
Please check tide tables if walking along the beach from Whitecliff Bay. The point can become cut off or dangerous due to blue slipper and cliff falls.
Please check boat draft if coming in by motor or sail due to ledge, arriving by kayak is a good option.

If you are on foot, the Bembridge Coastal footpath passes the café along the beach. Please check footpath status incase its closed due to landfall. If it it is, walk along Howgate Road from Whitecliff Bay Road side until you rejoin at Forelands Field Road.
